My mother wrote the kids' names on the back of the photo, and later I typed them on the paper you see above.  So I think they're probably correct.

We were a mid-year class, so the date (if it's correct) indicates that we would have been near the end of our first semester in the second grade.  The inscription "1 A - 2 B" evidently means that we began the school year (in the previous fall) while still in the first grade.

The photo was taken on the front steps of the school.  The school office was just inside the doors, on the right.  I remember having several opportunities to confer in there with the.principal, Margaret McGuire.  My mother always said she was very nice, although I remember her as being somewhat formidable.
